Animal Rescue

An animal rescue is similar to an animal shelter in the fact that their goals are exactly the same: to take in homeless pets and care for them until a good home can be found for them. The only real difference between animal rescues and animal shelters is that most animal rescues will only accept stray animals. In fact, many animal rescue groups do not accept animals that have current owners just because the owner wants to get rid of them. However, some animal rescue shelters pride themselves on taking all animals, no matter the reason.

There are many different ways to find an animal rescue in your area. Animal rescue organizations can be found in almost every state in the United States, and even in some other countries. Michigan animal rescue, Des Moines animal rescue and the Georgia animal rescue are just some of the animal rescues that serve the continental US. Contra Costa County animal rescue has a very helpful website through the California animal services board. Many animal rescue groups in MA also have helpful websites that provide contact information and the location of the facility.

If you are more interested in generally helping animal rescue throughout the country, try the Animal Rescue Site. The Animal Rescue Site offers an easy way to donate and help rescue organizations around the country. Also, try looking into the Animal Rescue Foundation, or ARF. There are ARF branches set up in California and in Georgia, and more are sure to follow. A larger organization, called the Animal Rescue League, has branches all over the US. The Animal Rescue Fund in Muncie, Indiana is another great place to make a donation or volunteer your time.

It is extremely important that animal shelters and animal rescues get donations and volunteers. Most of the organizations listed above are non-profit organizations, which means that they function on donated money. Most of these facilities have only volunteer employees who are not paid for their work – they just love animals and want to help their communities! By donating money or volunteering your time, you are helping these facilities carry on with their work in helping stray and abandoned animals. Remember that it takes time, effort and a lot of generosity to run an animal shelter or animal rescue. The money donated to an animal rescue usually goes towards food and shelter for the homeless pets. Check into your chosen rescue before you donate.
